8 Perfect Destinations on Holiday in San Francisco

Even if you can't expect it will snow in winter in San Francisco, it is still a good season to walk around the city and enjoy the holidays. No matter how low the temperature of California is in winter, San Francisco is certainly at least warmer than 38 states in the United States. Go out with your friends or families on Christmas day, and take a look at the beautiful San Francisco with colorful holiday atmosphere.

Macy's + SF SPCA Holiday Windows Unveiling

This year, Beside Macy’s usual meticulously holiday window decorations as traditional from last year, most windows in Macy’s will be dressed up as a warm home for small animals. The adoptable cats and dogs from SPCA will be invited at Macy's from November 18th through the holidays until January 1st. And you can apply for adoption your fluffy "friends"!

Ice-skating rinks in San Francisco

Yerba Buena Gardens, the Embarcadero Center and Union Square are three famous ice rinks in San Francisco. They will be open as usual on Christmas, The latter two will even be open until late at night. Embarcadero Center is the largest outdoor skating rink in the Bay Area. You can take this opportunity to show your great skating skills to your friends. Although Union Square is no longer noisy as in the past, the sparkling Christmas tree can still bring you full of festive mood. If you go there, ice skating will be a unforgettable memory!

San Francisco Zoo

Celebrate the holiday season by visiting Reindeer romp at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens. Santa is sending his favorite reindeers, "Belle", "Holly" and "Peppermint" to spread holiday cheer from Nov 19 to January 1. You can also find the sifaka in the newly-constructed sifaka exhibit, an extension of the Lipman Family Lemur Forest, which includes a baobab tree climbing structure along with other plants native to Madagascar. In addition, you can see the zoo in a whole new light from December 16 to 30 (closed December 24 & 25). ZooLights 2016 takes you on a magical trip with food and seasonal delights. Lovely music from carolers will fill the air and bright lights will shine the way as you retreat to a holiday hideaway.

San Francisco Botanical Garden

The San Francisco botanical garden is located in Golden Gate Park. It will be open on Christmas day. It covers an area of 55 acres and includes native plants, fleshy, magnolias, redwood, and other more than 8000 kinds of plants are on display. Some of them are in bloom. If the weather is good on Christmas day, you can even have a picnic in the garden.

Contemporary Jewish Museum

Contemporary Jewish museum is open on Christmas day. Even better, because it's a Community Free Day, all art galleries will open (you'd better register in advance). The art production, music performances and kinds of snacks will make your holiday more cheerful!

Kung Pao Kosher Comedy

Kung Pao Kosher Comedy will bring Jewish Comedy heritage and the traditional Chinese food culture on holiday. Since comic Lisa Geduldig started performing at the New Asia Restauran in Chinatown in 1993, this show has become a traditional program every year. It’s San Francisco’s longest-running comedy show. Now in its 24th year! The time of the show in 2016 is December 23-25.

Dickens Christmas Fair has a history of more than 40 years in the Bay Area to celebrate Christmas tradition.
